Our Ethos

We care deeply about creating objects that feel steady, considered, and lasting— pieces that support thought, daily use, creativity, reflection, and the spaces they live in.

As a husband-and-wife studio we're guided by a shared respect for nature, materials, and thoughtful making. We think about materials as foundations: something that holds, steadies, and allows space for ideas, work, and everyday life to take shape. Everything we design and make follows this same principle. Transparency regarding the materials we utilize in the making of our products is important to us. Our material suppliers are located in Canada and the United States. The raw materials we source from them come from Canada, the United States, and Europe.

Our Choice Of Leather

We work exclusively with full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather, sourced locally. The hides originiate from France and Northern Europe and are tanned in renowned, eco-conscious tanneries in Tuscany, Italy.

The tanneries adhere to rigorous standards, avoiding the use of heavy metals and using only natural tannins in their tanning process. They maintain complete traceability across the supply chain, operate exclusively in Tuscany, and strive to reduce their environmental footprint.

Importantly, no animals are ever killed for their hides; materials that would otherwise be discarded as byproducts of the meat industry, are repurposed, creating new value from waste.

Our materials are not meant to stay pristine; in fact, they only get better with age and are meant to be used, pressed into, softened, and shaped over time.

Paper for Art, Writing, And Everyday Notes

Our intentionally chosen premium papers are sourced via North American suppliers, from reputable paper manufacturers with a long history of paper production. Papers used in the production of our products come from the following countries:

We prioritize sustainability in our paper choices and choose mills based on their practices, certifications, and our genuine commitment to doing the best we can as a small business. We’re proud to offer you beautiful objects that reflect our attention to quality, the environment, and sustainability.

Our considered, handcrafted construction brings everything into balance.

Our Printing Inks & Eco-Friendly Cleanup

Our Favourite Letterpress Blacks

For our signature letterpress prints, we have opted to primarily use a variety of traditional linseed-oil based black inks in our studio. These inks are beautifully subtle and handcrafted in the UK.

Our adopted black, which we proudly use on our branded stationery is Graphite Black, perfectly fitting given our love of art and industry.

Bespoke Hand-mixed Pantone® Colours

In addition to our favourite blacks, we hand-mix commercial grade bespoke colours from the Pantone® palette.

Cleanup

We do our best to minimize ink waste prior to cleanup and our clean-up process takes a green-first approach.

Recycled newspaper and all-natural household cleaning products, such as vegetable oil, are a staple in our studio and get the job done perfectly on and off the press. It might take us a little extra time, but it's absolutely worth it.

Our Handcrafted & Curated Packaging Materials

As environmentally conscious artisans, we incorporate post-consumer waste into our brand and packaging materials where we can.

We enjoy good coffee in the studio and on-the-go, so we've chosen to design and craft our product tags and labels in-house, from paper that is 100% recycled and contains a minimum of 25% post-consumer waste (coffee cups- not ours - they're ceramic).

We do our best to source the rest of our promotional, packaging, and shipping materials from suppliers that prioritize sustainability, making environmentally conscious choices wherever possible as a small business.

We opt for kraft boxes and mailers, with minimally branded packaging. We want you to receive something beautiful and hope you will re-use what you can.
